550469_10152605918815142_787196216_nAfter traveling to New York for many times in 2013, I’ve decided to write a list of my favourite places (Hotels, Restaurants, Clubs…). Of course we all know the typical: Central Park, the Empire State Building, Rockefeller, Times Square, 5th Avenue, Bryant’s Park, Brooklyn, etc. But this post will show you the NewYorkers places for food! (and also hotels!)

– Where should I stay while I am in NYC?

The easiest & cheapest way for me, is renting an appartment through AirBnB, Home Away, etc. But, if you really want to stay at a hotel, it depends on the stars, price, location… After visiting a lot, I have to say that each of them has its “special concept”. Hotels like “The Roger”, “King & Groove”, “Bryant Park Hotel”, “The Out NYC”, “The Alex Hotel”, “BPM Brooklyn” (all decorated by a “DJ atmosphere”), “EXE Avalon” (very well located), “Room Mate Grace”, etc.

– Where should I eat?

1. “La Pulquería”: a secret Mexican restaurant located in Chinatown (11 Doyers St.), in an old alley where you have to find its door and walk down the stairs while watching cooks working in a tiny kitchen. Very good food at an affordable price!

IMG_28452. “Gaonnuri”: a Korean restaurant on the top floor of a building on the 32nd street and Broadway, where you can admire one of NY’s best views. And, of course, taste the special Korean cuisine. Be ready for something expensive…

la foto3. “Please Don’t Tell”: a secret place in the East Village (113 Saint Marks Place). When you go in you just see a simple hotdog spot to eat (where you can also play machines) and a phone box. Pick up the telephone and a secret door will open to show you the hidden restaurant! But be aware, you have to call in advance and reserve a table. Exciting!

exterior_img_051814. “Taka Taka”: Mexican Sushi restaurant close to the Soho. A really good mix that I have never tried before! Affordable price.

la foto (1)5. “Shake Shak”: modern ‘roadside’ burger stand. There are 3 in NYC, very known nowadays for its price and its fast service.

6. “Pastis”: French bistro located at the Meatpacking District opened by Keith McNally (9, 9th Avenue). It is one of the places where “Sex and the City” was filmed. Don’t forget to book a table beforehand!

7. “Burger Joint @ Le Parker Meridien Hotel”: The best hamburger in New York. A small place hidden behind a curtain in the lobby of the hotel , you will have to wait a line, but it will be worth it as they are not expensive and they are really good.

8. “Andanada”: Owned by a young entrepreneur Spanish guy, Alvaro. Located in the Upper West Side, this Spanish Restaurant will show us the best tapas, paellas and cocktails.

9. “LAVO”: Italian restaurant in 58th St. Famous for the great Brunch that takes place every Saturday around 2.30 pm. It turns into a crazy party! A DJ plays, while having brunch, champagne bottles up and down, models and cool people everywhere. There are different theme shows every weekend where you will enjoy the performance, music, people dancing on the tables & chairs until 6 pm approximately. I have never seen anything like this before… What happens in New York, stays in New York! This restaurant has also a Nightclub… If you would like to experience any of these events or you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
